The gas-insulated load switch is a type of switch used in 12KV fully insulated gas-filled cabinets. Its function lies between that of a high-voltage circuit breaker and a high-voltage disconnector, equipped with a simple arc-extinguishing device to connect and disconnect specific load currents and overload currents. However, it cannot interrupt short-circuit currents and is therefore typically used in series with a high-voltage fuse to provide short-circuit protection.

Fully Insulated Gas-Filled Cabinet
The cabinet is a sealed structure made of corrosion-resistant aluminum-zinc-coated steel. It has an IP4X protection rating. The main busbar load switch and cables are housed in separate metal compartments. Each compartment is equipped with a pressure relief device to divert gases released during internal arc faults toward the cable trench or the rear of the cabinet, minimizing operator risk. A through-hole grounding busbar runs through the cable compartment, ensuring secure grounding of the cabinet and cable shields. The cabinet operation panel features a gas condition observation window, a manual override port, a padlock, a simulated wiring diagram, switch position indicators, and a live display. The cable compartment door is mechanically interlocked with the grounding switch. The cable compartment door can only be opened when the grounding switch is closed, and the grounding switch can only be opened when the cable compartment door is closed.
