The PT breaker operating mechanism is a dedicated mechanical device within ring main units (RMUs) designed for the safe isolation of voltage transformers (PTs). Its core function is to electrically isolate the PT from the high-voltage busbar while the system remains energized, establishing a visible break to facilitate equipment maintenance or testing. Typically manually operated, this mechanism incorporates positive mechanical interlocking to enforce the critical safety sequence: "open the PT's secondary circuit breaker BEFORE isolating the primary contacts", while fully complying with five-prevention interlocking requirements.

Closing operation of the disconnector

Install and fix the mechanism on the main body, insert the dedicated operating handle into the upper part of the mechanism (closing operation shaft), rotate it clockwise by 90°, and the main circuit of the load switch will close under the action of the mechanism spring force. Or, under electric operation, press the closing button, and the motor drives the mechanism to complete the switch closing operation.

The opening operation of the disconnector

Insert the dedicated operating handle into the upper part of the mechanism (closing operation shaft), and rotate it counterclockwise by approximately 90°. Under the action of the mechanism spring force, the main circuit of the body opens. Or, under electric operation, press the opening button, and the motor drives the mechanism to complete the opening and closing operation.

Grounding closing operation of the disconnector

Insert the operating handle into the grounding operation shaft (lower part) and rotate it clockwise by 90°. Under the action of the mechanism spring force, the grounding circuit of the main body is closed.

Grounding opening operation of the disconnector

When the operating handle is turned counterclockwise by approximately 90°, the grounding circuit of the main body opens under the action of the mechanism spring force.
