1, lightning protection error zone: seemingly ``inexplicable disconnection '', in fact, there is a potential source of the fault.
In industrial distribution operation, many maintenance workers often encounter the 600A three-phase fuse suddenly disconnected and equipment shut down for no reason. Since there were no obvious signs of short-circuit, smoke or equipment burning at the scene, a quality problem with the fuse was determined and a new fuse was replaced directly to force the connection. In fact, there are no true "inexplicable melting" in industrial high-power fuses, and all disconnection actions are protected feedback from circuit abnormalities. Most of the hidden faults arenot detectable to the naked eye, including instantaneous current surges, ageing circuit insulation, poor contact, load fluctuations, etc., which trigger fuse protection. Blind replacement of components without investigation of the root cause, will only lead to repeated fuse breakage, not only affect production schedule, but also accumulate electrical hazards, resulting in greater electrical safety accidents.
2, Load abnormality: Passive melting caused by overload and instantaneous surge current.
Abnormal load is the main reason of frequent disconnection of 600A three-phase fuses and the hidden danger that is most easily ignored. Multiple devices on Simultaneous start-up industrial production line, frequent outages of high-power motors, and equipment overload operation can cause the actual current of a three-phase circuit to momentarily exceed the 600A rating. Long-term and persistent slight overload does not cause immediate fuse breakage, but rather accelerates fuse aging, performance degradation, and ultimately delays disconnection. The surge current generated when the device is centrally activated, with a peak current far higher than the normal working current, will directly trigger the instantaneous protection of the fuse. Many factories focus only on whether the equipment can function properly and ignore the calculation of total load. Prolonged overuse of electricity is the core cause of fuse inexplicable disconnection.
Line and equipment faults: Short circuit and phase loss are high-frequency triggering factors
Short-circuit and phase loss faults in three-phase circuit are high risk factors that cause 600A fuses to break. After a long period of operation, the aging and cracking cable insulation layer, moisture and intakes, and the the overlapping of dust and metal impurities in the line can cause intermittent short circuits that immediately generate excessive currents that trigger fuses. Compared with explicit short circuit, intermittent virtual short circuit has strong concealment, there is no obvious trace on the scene, it is easy to be mistaken for unreasonable fault. At the same time, single-phase contact virtual connection and line breakage in three-phase motor and distribution cabinet equipment may cause phase loss faults, causing other two-phase currents to surge beyond the rated load range of the fuse and eventually trigger protective disconnection. Long-term phase loss can also directly burn down high-power production equipment.
4, Installation and accessory issues: Improper construction results in incorrect disconnection.
Many fuse disconnection failure are not circuit problem, but errors caused by improper installation and substandard accessories. When some builders install 600A fuses, the wiring terminals are not fastened tightly enough, the pressure lines are not tight enough, and vibrations when the device is running can cause virtual wiring, increasing contact resistance, local temperature heating, and ultimately the fuse burns. At the same time, using inferior fuses and replacement parts whose parameters do not match, their fuse material and breakability do not conform to industry standards, cannot carry a steady current of 600A, and will be disconnected for no reason under normal load conditions. In addition, the improper position of the fuse, insufficient heat dissipation space will also cause local heat accumulation, leading to the production of protective fuse.
5, Environmental and aging losses: natural melting due to accumulation of long-term working conditions.
Prolonged poor working conditions and natural aging of components are major hazards that can cause fuses to inexplicably disconnect. Industrial workshops are prone to dust, high humidity and high temperatures, which can erode the shell and internal structure of a fuse, resulting in reduced insulation performance, oxidation and brittleness. The 600A high-power fuse has high frequency current for a long period of time. After starting the fuse, it repeats the hot and cold cycles, which leads to metal fatigue and gradually degrades the fuse performance. Even if the circuit does not fail, the carrying capacity of the aging fuse will be greatly reduced and the rated current will not be met, resulting in a natural fuse. Therefore, industrial distribution operation maintenance requires regular replacement of ageing fuses to prevent equipment from exceeding its useful life, reduce unnecessary power outages at source and ensure the stable operation of distribution systems.
