Four-pole load break disconnect is a key electrical component in low-voltage power distribution systems. They simultaneously close and isolate the neutral line (north pole) while opening and closing three-phase lines. The disconnect switches featured on this page are rated for 160A and are suitable for applications requiring complete power disconnection and absolute safety. When the system has single-phase loads or requires higher electrical isolation, the fourth pole effectively cuts off potential fault currents in the neutral line, preventing electric shock during maintenance and equipment commissioning, and providing the highest level of safety protection for operators. Structure and Features

 

  • The load-disconnector features a housing made of glass-fiber-reinforced unsaturated polyester resin.
  • A spring-loaded acceleration mechanism enables rapid connection and disconnection.
  • The contact structure features two separate contact surfaces with parallel double-break points, with contact pressure maintained by leaf springs.
  • The disconnector automatically controls the open and close limits and features clear on/off markings to indicate the open and close positions.

Installation Instructions

 

1. The switch should be installed vertically. Before installation, check the nameplate for compliance with operating requirements. Confirm that the switch is in the off position. Move the switch operating handle. When the arrow on the pointer points outside the "0" position and the observation window displays "0," the switch is in the off position. When the arrow points to the "I" position and the observation window displays "I," the switch is in the closed position.

 

2. The wiring terminals and bare busbars on the switch should be wrapped with insulation to prevent interphase short circuits.

 

3. If the extension shaft of the external switch is not aligned with the handle hole, do not move the extension shaft to avoid damage to internal components. Always adjust the switch position to ensure alignment.

 

4. The switch should be maintained approximately every six months. If the rotating parts are stiff, apply MP-3 grease. Check for loose fasteners and repair them accordingly. If damage is severe, discontinue use.
